Hackintosh with Dual Monitors

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

My hackintosh Shuttle SD30G2 with an Asus Nvidia 8500 GT video card is now hooked up to 2 monitors. The 2 monitors are a Dell E228WFP (22″) connected with DVI cable and an old Samsung SyncMaster 151s (15″) with VGA cable.

I’m using NVkush.kext and my NVCAP settings is <04000000 00000600 09000000 00000000 00000000>.

The main challenge in getting dual monitor support on a hackintosh is getting the NVCAP settings correct. One great resource for getting NVidia cards working properly on a hackintosh is http://nvinject.free.fr/.

Here are two important links if you’re looking to get dual monitor support on your hackintosh.

MSI Wind Running Mac OS X 10.5.4 Leopard

The MSI Wind has the potential to be a great hackintosh laptop. The only hurdle is the WIFI card (Realtek 8187SE chipset) does not work on Mac OS X. No drivers exists for it at the moment.
